Case Study: Miele

We had supplied the Miele Company’s head office in Abingdon with most of the audio visual equipment in use in their board room, meeting rooms and training rooms, but when the new Miele Experience Centre was being planned, we had the brief to provide the best and latest visual display devices then available.

The customer training room has twin 4000 lumen projectors, with inputs from up to 3 computers, a ceiling mounted camera with full control, and a DVD and video player. These inputs, switching from each source is controlled by an AMX 8.4 inch Modero touch panel, normally docked in the wall station, but retractable for use. Any input to any output is achieved via the AV matrix, allowing total flexibility for the training staff. Lighting control and volume levels are also incorporated on the panel. All the equipment is neatly housed in a wood framed rack at the rear of the room, and all controls are wireless, enabling total flexibility.

The Demonstration Kitchen uses 3 ceiling mounted cameras, twin 61” plasma displays with two 32” back up LCD displays, and the AMX 8.4 inch touch panel control. A signal matrix and all the hardware is rack mounted in a wood frame in a discrete location. As the food preparation and product demonstrations happen, all the relevant images are directed to one or both plasma displays. The visual results are clear, bright, high resolution images which always impress.

The Coffee Area and Stairwell have 4000 lumen XGA resolution projectors projecting an image from a Onelan Net top Box, which converges video, scrolling text, clock, and the option of other sources such as live TV. These multimedia in one screens constantly entertain and inform staff and visitors.

The technical training suite has also been equipped with twin projection split over two training environments, touch panel remote control, and a variety of inputs from cameras and computers.
